Our Jampot & Sunday story began in 2014 when both myself and Scott decided that we wanted to use our creative flair to design and produce luxurious fabrics which were long lasting and sustainable. Born in Yorkshire, we both had a basic knowledge of the mill industry which our home towns were built around and this laid the foundations for the concept.
For us, the designs we make need to reflect our beautiful Yorkshire surroundings. Our first two collections; Autumn and Winter, take inspiration from the colours around us during these seasons. This will soon be echoed by the Spring and Summer collections which are in the design process now. We love to spend time as a family in the great outdoors and now use this time taking photos and making memories which we can then translate into the beautiful blankets and scarves which are key to J & S.
Our production partners in the process are all within Yorkshire. Whilst the raw materials used are often imported so as to ensure the finest and softest yarn can be produced, these are fully traceable and we work with the mills to ensure that the sustainable ethos is shared between us, the mill and the farmers from whom the wool is procured. The mills which we partner with are longstanding, family run businesses with rich heritage and a desire to keep weaving skills current whilst ensuring that traditions are also maintained. They are in excess of 100 years old and we are proud to work with them. One is a vertical mill so produces everything within the process, from the yarn to the finished product and a second uses Yorkshire wool in the yarn for our products. Both help us to minimise our carbon footprint significantly whilst ensuring that our fabrics are fully traceable from start to finish and that quality is it at forefront of what we do.
